The injury was feared to be serious, but the Wizards tweeted that x-rays on Beal's ankle came back negative. He's likely to be feeling it the next few days, but he'll get a couple of days to rest it with the Wiz off until Wednesday.
Beal, the No. 3 pick, played 37 minutes and scored 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting, including two 3-pointers. The rook added four rebounds, three assists and two blocks prior to the injury.
Trevor Ariza is likely to get extra run -- he played 28 minutes and managed nine points and eight boards Sunday -- with Beal out. The veteran win has been playing well of late, averaging 15.8 points, 2 3-pointers, 4.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.8 steals and .2 blocks in his last five games.
Beal said x-rays on ankle came back negative, initially thought injury was more serious but not as concerned now, will see how it feels tmrw
