Rey Mysterio won't need knee surgery ... for now

Rey Mysterio appears to have dodged a bullet for now. The iconic luchador tweeted that his knee won't require surgery "for now." But he does have to wear a dynasplint (see it after the jump).

Earlier this week, Mysterio wrote that he was scheduled to meet with Dr. James Andrews due to a possibly torn ACL. That meeting appears to have gone better than expected.

"Things haven't been good since I stepped back in the ring," Mysterio wrote on Monday.

A torn ACL would have, at the least, cost Mysterio a fat WrestleMania paycheck, and, at most, cost him his in-ring career. But the latter may be wrapping up due to the countless surgeries Mysterio has underwent on his knees over the years. That adds up. And for Mysterio's sake, hopefully he hangs up his mask and bulky knee braces up before his health is even more adversely affected.
