Batista to play Drax the Destroyer in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

Ex-WWE wrestler Dave Bautista has landed a major movie role.

The Hollywood Reporter says Batista will portray Drax the Destroyer in the upcoming Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy, which Chris Pratt has already been cast in.

Here's the lowdown on the film, via THR:

Galaxy centers on Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Pratt), a U.S. pilot who ends up in space in the middle of a universal conflict and goes on the run with futuristic ex-cons who have something everyone want, according to the plot description.

Drax is a human resurrected as a green warrior with the sole purpose of killing Thanos (the villain in the final-scene tease of Avengers). His powers include flight, super-strength and energy blasts.

Guess we won't be seeing "The Animal" back in a WWE ring anytime soon.
