WWE.com announced that Paul Bearer, real name William Moody, has died at the age of 58. Here's the full statement from WWE.
"WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of William Moody, aka Paul Bearer. Moody made his WWE debut in 1991 as the manager of The Undertaker and went on to become a memorable part of WWE over the course of the next 20 years.Our deepest condolences go out to Moody’s family, friends and fans."
Moody was the iconic manager of The Undertaker in the early 1990s, and later managed Mankind and Kane in feuds against the Phenom during the Attitude Era. He was a unique character, a ghoulish funeral home director in the world of wrestling as well as real life.
Prior to his WWF stint, Moody used the name Percy Pringle in World Class Championship Wrestling, managing villains against the Von Erich family.
His last wrestling appearance appears to have been an independent show called "Dead of Winter," that also feature Jerry "The King" Lawler.
