Life without Thaddeus Young could prove rough for the Philadelphia 76ers. But not if Lavoy Allen keeps doing work. The second-year forward posted a solid line in his first start three days ago (12 points, six rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block in 35 minutes). But Saturday's line is the eye opener.
Allen cleaned the glass against the Charlotte Bobcats, grabbing a career-high 22 boards. He added 14 points (7-16 FG), three assists and a block in 41 minutes.
Allen's season averages are 6.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1 assist, .3 steals and .9 blocks in 22.7 minutes. He's shooting 48 percent from the field and 69 percent from the charity stripe. And he's very available in fantasy leagues (owned in just 4 percent of Yahoo leagues). That's likely to change after Saturday night.
Dorell Wright returned to being ineffective, missing both of his shots and finishing with three rebounds and a block. Don't trust him.
Spencer Hawes turned in a nice line with 17 points (8-15 FG, a three, nine rebounds, three assists and a steal in 40 minutes. He's injury prone so be careful.
