The Dallas Mavericks have "a level of interest" in Milwaukee Bucks guard Brandon Jennings, according to ESPN Dallas. That's a jargon-y way of saying the Mavs would make a deal for the rising star if the Bucks were willing to part ways.
What would a potential deal look like? No mention of who the Mavs would be willing to part with -- uh, anyone but Dirk -- but the Mavs would likely have to take Drew Gooden in a deal.
ESPN calls that "a steep price for the Mavs to pay for a player who has fallen out of Milwaukee’s rotation." Not so much that as the $6.7 million that the former Kansas Jayhawk is owed in each of the next two seasons. That stings for a rebuilding franchise attempting to shed payroll. But is Jennings worth opening the so-called "Bank of Cuban"?
Fox Sports' Sam Amico reported that Dallas GM Donnie Nelson "is secretly seeing what he might be able to accumulate via veteran forward Shawn Marion."
The Matrix is on record saying he won't report to a rebuilding club.
