The Chicago Bulls want to get out of paying the luxury tax and the most likely casualty could be starting shooting guard Rip Hamilton.
CBS Sports' Ken Berger reported that the Bulls are willing to trade Hamilton "in a deal that makes sense and saves them a year on the repeater-tax rolls."
This makes sense with the emergence of Jimmy Butler, who came on strong in a starting role when Luol Deng went down with a hamstring injury for about a week. In six starts, Butler averaged 14.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals.
The issue is finding a home for Hamilton. Hey, that sounds like a nice charity.
