The WWE Network may be closer to becoming a reality. If a survey issued by DirecTV is any indication, the satellite TV provider is interested in carrying the rasslin' channel
According to the Wrestling Observer, the survey hinted at a major programming note: The network will carry every pay-per-view except for WrestleMania. All 11 of them, including the Royal Rumble, SummerSlam and Survivor Series. Non-subscribers can still order the shows on pay-per-view, but with a network price point of anywhere from $12.99 to $29.99, the channel will end up saving fans who buy every show some money.
The Observer says the network will also offer reality shows, shows formerly on WWE Classics on Demand, replays of the weekly shows and footage from the company's expansive tape library. Not sure that offering the 11 shows is the best move, but it's definitely going to get subscribers who buy the pay-per-views. And I'd love to see the old footage, even with all of the rest holds.
