Team Hell No and Ryback couldn't eradicate The Shield at TLC so now super friends John Cena, Sheamus and Ryback will give it a shot at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view on February 17. Cena challenged Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns to a six-man tag match after the February 4 edition of Raw. And The Shield apparently agreed to fight.
The Cena-Sheamus-Ryback alliance has some issues. Yes, it's great that the babyfaces have finally banded together against the outsiders. But this is a doomed partnership for one reason: the Royal Rumble match. Ryback eliminated Sheamus. And Cena eliminated Ryback to win it and get the WrestleMania championship match. So Sheamus and Ryback don't care about missing out on the main eventing WrestleMania? I'm guessing they do, so dissension seems inevitable.
Also, WWE had the opportunity to do a War Games-style match with both teams in the Chamber. But it doesn't look like that's the direction they're going, which is probably best. Heading into WrestleMani,a team Cena-Sheamus-Ryback shouldn't be losing. Neither should every member of The Shield. So a elimination match, while the most exciting option, is probably the worst option.
