Jared Sullinger out the rest of the season, needs back surgery

Jared Sullinger's rookie season has come to an abrupt end. The Boston Celtics rookie will miss the rest of the season due to a back injury.

Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Sullinger's back will require surgery. Sully had experienced back pain for a few weeks and finally was forced to leave Wednesday's game with the injury. Brandon Bass should pick up the majority of Sullinger's minutes.

Less than a week ago, the Celtics lost point guard Rajon Rondo for the season to an ACL tear.
In 45 games, Sullinger averaged 6 points, 5.9 rebounds, .8 assists, .5 steals and .5 blocks in 19.8 minutes. He'd recently been inserted into the starting lineup.

Bass is averaging 7.5 points,  4.8 rebounds, .8 assists, .7 steals and .6 blocks in 25.8 minutes.
