Greg Oden's path back to the NBA could lead to San Antonio or Charlotte. Or Miami. Or Boston. Another week and more talk of where the former No. 1 pick will land.
Fox Sports Florida spoke with Oden's agent, Mike Conley, who is pushing hard in the media that his client is a hot commodity.
“I definitely can see both of those teams [as possibilities],’’ Conley told Fox Sports Florida. “San Antonio has an aging front line with [Tim] Duncan, and with Duncan and the Admiral [retired David Robinson, who still lives in San Antonio], he would have some great mentors.
“Charlotte, they are rebuilding. They would be in a better position [than many teams] to take more of a risk.’’
And then there's the Heat, but Oden has yet to meet with the franchise's leaders.
If Oden does sign this season, it won't be until after March 1. However, it's more likely that he'll sign during the summer.
Oden has undergone three microfracture surgeries -- the last in February 2012. He hasn't played a game since December 5, 2009.
The former Ohio State Buckeye averaged 11.1 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in 21 games during the 2009-10 season.
