ESPN reports that the Grizzlies are shipping reserves Marreese Speights, Wayne Ellington and Josh Selby (and likely a future-first round draft pick, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer) to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Jon Leuer
All of the players involved only carry value in deep leagues.
Speights (6.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and.7 blocks) helps fill the void left by Anderson Varejao (out for the season with a blood clot). He's been a solid backup for Z-Bo the last two seasons.
Grizzlies power forward Darrell Arthur (6.5 points, 3 rebounds and .6 blocks in 17.2 minutes) likely gets a minor bump with Speights out.
Ellington has shown a couple of flashes this season, including Monday's 17-point effort. On the season, Ellington is averaging 5.5 points and a three pointer. He joins a crowded guard position with Dion Waiters, C.J. Miles and Boobie Gibson.
Selby was the co-MVP of the 2012 Summer League, but he's been a ghost for much of season (2 points in 5.9 minutes).
Leuer has also been a non-factor.
