CM Punk initially won the match due to interference from The Shield. The lights went out when the Brahma Bull was attempting a People's Elbow. The Shield dumped Rock through the announcers' table with a triple power bomb. Punk rolled Rock into the ring and got the pin. But Vince McMahon came out and threatened to strip Punk of the belt. Rock demanded the match restart and two minutes later, he rallied, People's Elbowed Punk and won the championship.
The finishes of both matches felt really rushed. Cena and Ryback could have used an extra couple of minutes to build more drama. And Rock could have emphatically put Punk away with a Rock Bottom in the ring. But both matches were really good. And the road to WrestleMania is looking strong.
