Ric Flair was held out of a tag team match in Japan due to "suspicion of deep vein thrombosis of the left foot," according to the Pro Wrestling Torch.
Deep vein thrombosis is the formation of a blood clot in a deep vein in the legs. The Torch reports that the Japanese wrestling promotion feared that "the blockage could have spread to his brain or heart if he competed."
Flair was supposed to team with Keiji Mutoh (the Great Muta) against Tatsumi Fujinami and Seiya Sanada. Flair's son, Reid, took his place and took the fall in the match.
