Paul Pierce spoiled Ray Allen's return to Boston with a triple-double in a double-overtime win over the Miami Heat.
Pierce scored 17 points (6-16 FG, 4-6 FT), grabbed 13 rebounds and handed out 10 assists. He added a steal, a block and a 3-pointer in 49 minutes. His assists should increase with Rajon Rondo out for the season with a torn ACL.
Rookie Jared Sullinger started and scored seven points in 22 minutes. He also grabbed four rebounds, dished two dimes and stole three balls. The big thing here is Sullinger only fouled once and Brandon Bass played just 14 minutes.
Jeff Green gobbled up most of the minutes (42) and scored 11 points to go with four rebounds, a block and a three.
Speaking of Ray Allen, the Garden's rims were still kind. He scored 21 points (with two 3-pointers).
