Ray Allen acknowledged that he's closer to the end of his career. In an interview with the Racine Journal-Times, the 17-year veteran admitted that he could retire at the end of the season.
“It’s possible, yeah,” Allen told the newspaper. “Who knows what’s going to happen over the course of the summer? I have two years left on my contract. We’ll see how it goes.”
In the same story, Allen also said he didn't know when the end would come but he doesn't want to be the guy who hangs on longer than he should.
“I don’t know when I’ll retire,” Allen said. “I’d like to get through the year first. I feel great; my body feels good. I just got to get through."
In 25.5 minutes per game, Allen is averaging 11.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, .8 steals, and.2 blocks. He's also knocked down 64 3-pointers in 37 games.
