Has there ever been a player whose name made him better suited to be a Boston Celtic? Jared Sullinger, or Sully as I'm sure Celtic fans call him, is a perfect fit in Beantown. And with a roster of aging big men, Sully is also a a nice addition to the roster (he was a steal after slipping to the No. 21 pick in the draft).
His minutes have increased as the season has worn on. In 10 games in January, Sullinger is averaging 7.9 points and 8.5 rebounds with a sprinkling of other stuff (.8 assists, .3 steals and .6 blocks). He's getting better. In the Celtics' 93-87 loss to the Cavs Tuesday, Sully scored 12 points (5-11 FG, 2-2 FT), grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked a shot before fouling out in 26 minutes.
The fouls have been an issue (he's averaging 3.4 a game, and has fouled out of four other January games). But he's coming on. If he figures out how to dish, steal or block, he's going to be a fantasy threat.
Sully is 15-percent owned in Yahoo. If you're desperate for rebounding, give him a look.
