There's an explanation for Nicolas Batum's poor shooting in the Blazer's loss Saturday to the Milwaukee Bucks: The French phenom is dealing with an sore wrist.
Batum made just two of his nine shots, finishing with seven points (a three-pointer), seven rebounds, five assists and a steal. Blazers beat writer Jason Quick reports that Batum injured his right wrist while trying to brace himself in a fall during practice. He played Saturday with a wrap on it.
"It hurts the more I shoot," Batum told Quick. Batum doesn't expect to miss any games.
Batum is a top-10 fantasy player. On the season, he's averaging 16.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.5 steals and a block with 98 three-pointers made.
I wouldn't bench him, unless he's for sure missing time. Keep riding him, but expect his shots to decrease.
